Transforming the Defences

The training runs from 9:00am - 4:00pm in Fort Langley on both days.

Cognitive strategies do not always resolve the symptoms of anxiety or depression.  Come and learn how old unconscious experiences have been encoded as implicit memory in the right hemisphere of the brain.  These implicit memories rely on the use of imagery and body sensations to release the energy that promotes unhelpful patterns of coping.

Instructors: Susan Lim & Michael Cameron

Prerequisite: Introduction to Neuroscience and the Satir Model in the Sand Tray

Level One certification criteria will be met after this training is complete.

What to bring:

  • Coffee mug and coffee

  • Comfortable clothes

  • Slippers

  • Lunch on both days

  • Don't wear makeup (in case there is a tear or two)

  • A willingness to be vulnerable!

This course is the basic foundation for all the other courses. In this workshop you will learn how to ask questions in the metaphor of the figurines in the Sand Tray. This method accesses the unconscious memories that are stuck in the body and creating all sorts of unhealthy ways of staying safe.
